The Iranian supreme leader has chosen the path of tyranny which the people of Iran and the world have already thrown into the waste bin of history several times.
Khamenei has forgotten that what brought about the Shah's embarrassing downfall was bringing the army into the streets; and what brought about the Iranian nation's impressive victory was resorting to slogans such as, "Armed brother, why kill your brother?" and historical gestures such as putting flowers in the barrels of soldiers' guns.
Khamenei has forgotten that he is standing against the will of that very remarkable generation and its children. Young men and women who have, after twenty years of silence and unimaginable tolerance, chosen the path of their fathers and mothers, as well as their slogans and actions, their nightly chants of Allah Akbar, their daily protests and the central slogan of "death to dictator."
Like the Shah, the Iranian leader insists on vandalizing and setting on fire people's homes and businesses in order to blame Mousavi and Karoubi supporters for the damage.
He was unaware that the "innocence" of my martyred sister, Neda Agha Soltan, would become the symbol of reformists and people seeking change, and that "fire and blood" will become the symbol of Khamenei's supporters. He is unaware that, in the eyes of the world, "peaceful protests" have come to symbolize reforms and "disruption and shedding blood" have come to symbolize "Velayate Faghih," rule of the jurist.
That is why it is predicted that the mourning ceremony of June 25 will take on a new face, turning into a "exposition" of Seyyed Ali Khamenei's brutal personality.
That is why we predict that people will pour onto the streets in Tehran on that day and continue their peaceful protests.
On Thursday, every Iranian citizen will become a symbol of the innocence of martyrs of the recent days, and every reformist will carry a sign or signs; a black shirt on the body, a red rose in hand...
