Rooz Exclusive – One of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s closest confidants and advisors, ‎Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi, was recently heard saying during daily prayers at the ‎president's office that he is happy that respected ayatollah and former director of ‎revolutionary founder Ayatollah Khomeini’s office, Ayatollah Tavassoli, is dead. ‎

According to reports obtained from knowledgeable sources inside the president's office, ‎Samareh Hashemi clearly stated: “thank God that ‘prominent reformist personality’ ‎‎[referring to Ayatollah Tavassoli] died.” ‎

Samareh Hashemi, known by those working at the president’s office as someone lacking ‎social manners – he has been heard repeatedly cursing in public - attacks reformists with ‎profane language during daily prayer meetings, and has clearly told those working at the ‎president's office not to vote for reformist candidates in upcoming parliamentary ‎elections. Recently, he was confronted during one of his speeches by an employee at the ‎president’s office who told him, “We have gotten to know your true side by now too.” ‎Hashemi Samareh threatened to fire that employee and referred to him as a mercenary ‎element who must have been previously eliminated. ‎

Knowledgeable sources say that employees from the president's office are summoned to ‎disciplinary committees on daily basis for various reasons, where they are extensively ‎questioned and asked to spy on their coworkers. ‎
